  • Esso Tasek Bulk Plant, Zaim WM (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
This place actually was closed at 2008 since there was a serious derailment involving Block Train Number 410 Up, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Diesel Fuel Oil-Laden Bogie Tanker Oils (BTO) Block Train en route from Tapis Minyak Exxon Mobil and SHELL Malaysia Refinery Plant to Ipoh Marshalling Yard (SHELL Malaysia) and Tasek Exxon Mobil Bulk Packaging and Bottling Depot. According to KTM Berhad Annual Report 2008, KTM Berhad was loss RM 300,000 due to the termination of 35 Kilometers-length Port Dickson Branch due to the Serious Derailment as well as tracks between Seremban and Siliau sector were very very bad order. Once upon a time, here was the destination of Block Train Number 410 Up from Tapis Minyak, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus. This Block Train would convey Exxon Mobil Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) inside a special-designed tankers (BTO 207xx/208xx/209xx) as well as Diesel Fuel Oil for Industrial Usage with using BTO 91xx/207xx as well as Portable Diesel Tanker-Mounted BLC (Bogie Logs and Container Flatbed) Underframe Cars (BLC 30xxx). Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for SHELL Malaysia Berhad (SHELL Gas) also would being hauled by this Block Train from Tapis Minyak SHELL Malaysia Berhad Refinery to Ipoh SHELL Distribution Depot at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak with using BTO 201xx. BP (British Petroleum or now known as Boustead Holdings Petroleum or BHPetrol/BHP) Petroleum Products Tankers (BTO 202xx) also would being hauled by this Block Train from Port Dickson Installation Depot to Lahat. However, Boustead Holdings Petroleum Bulk Packaging and Distribution Depot at Lahat was shut down in 1997. Maybe due to Global Economic Crisis. Also shut down in year 1997 was 1961-estabilished California Texas Oil (CALTEX) Bulk Packaging and Distribution Depot at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Ipoh. Empty Exxon Mobil and SHELL Malaysia Tankers would hauled back to Tapis Minyak as 409 Down. Before 1997, the Unit Train would halt at Lahat Station for a while to pick up BP/BH Petrol Tankers before the Liner Train continued its journey to Tapis Minyak and Port Dickson. In fact, Petroleum Products was the THIRD LARGEST COMMODITY HAULED BY OUR RAILWAY IN 1990's DECADE with five Petroleum Oil Companies - SHELL, ESSO/Exxon Mobil, British Petroleum (BP or Boustead Holdings Petroleum/BH Petrol), California Texas (CALTEX), as well as our premiere Petroleum Company, Petroleum Nasional Berhad or PETRONAS. 409 Down and 410 Up. The longest Freighter Liner Train Number in KTM Berhad!!! This number was used since 1982!!! Before KTM Berhad Freight Train Numbers were reshuffled and rearranged according to Commodities System at 1998, KTM Berhad also used this number as Petroleum Products Block Train from Tapis Minyak to Tasek and vice versa. 409 Down and 410 Up - SAME NUMBER, SAME DESTINATION, SAME COMMODITY, SAME WAGON TYPE, SAME COMPANY!!!

Foong Yue Kee - I was a student for my whole life in ACS Ipoh, from 1959 till 1969. Honestly I hated school during my days but I now find that school is something I really missed and cherish especially when we compare of what that is happening in the current school system mooted by our government. Honestly I feel privy ledged having attended a school like ACS Ipoh.
