  • Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman Ipoh - Star, solverra (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (or more commonly known as STAR) is a public fully-residential school in Malaysia. Named after the first King of Malaysia, Almarhum Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku Abdul Rahman, it is located in Ipoh, Perak. Incidentally, the school was officiated by Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first Prime Minister. The school initially started at an army camp in Baeza Avenue (now known as Jalan Hospital). Formerly known as Malay Secondary School, this all-boys school was built by the Malayan government in 1957 to uplift the educational status of Malays in Malaya.

  • Pomelo Stalls, ishtok wrote 17 years ago:
In the early years, started out as a handful of roadside stalls selling pomeloes from farms on the outskirt of Ipoh town. By the late 70's had stalls lining-up a whole stretch of the road with cars and bus-load of passer-by on the way south being lobbied by young girls to buy pomeloes and other tidbits.

  • SRJK (C) BERCHAM, Iyfer CSF (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Yeah! This is my primary school! I graduated in 1991... hmm... A proud history for me. Why? We had about 40 pupils in class and I was the class monitor! And, till date, most of my classmates are now professionals in various industries/ fields, both in local and oversea. Of course, we had a great Cikgu TanLC as our Form Teacher for three years that led us to greater growth! The school had been tens of years in Bercham village, and she brought up immeasurable academic achievers as well as sport determiners. Isn't it sounds great!
